Lord of the Flies

The following is a quote by William Golding: "The theme of the Lord of the flies is an attempt to trace the defects of society back to the defects of human nature. By citing incidents and comments from the book, prove that this is, indeed, a theme of the novel.

    This is indeed the theme of the book because when in the olden days before society,it was a mad house. Savaging for food and water.
    "Piggy moved among the crowd, asking names and frowning to remember them. The children gave him the same simple obedience that they had given to the man with the megaphones."
    This incident shows how society can be effected.
    "The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away." This incident explains how the defects of society defect human nature.

    Fear of the beast, even on just page 101, has already set in. Already then, the society has begun to break down.

    I think Kyras quote is also really important because it shows really how fast fear can corrupt a society, and by golly Sharon nice quotes :)

    I agree with everyone on Sharon's quotes, i really like the last quote that she chose- "The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away." It really does explain how the defects of society defect human nature. Great job Sharon! :)

    This is the theme of the story. Quotes- Jack said," Look we killed a pig!", REalph then said, " you let the fire out!" they are now turning to there savage selves.
    Good quotes guys very good, Cassidy you know what you are talking about.
